This Banarasi saree is hand-woven using the intricate kadhua technique on pure katan silk, made from the finest mulberry silk. The saree features a rich golden floral design against a light ivory base, enhanced with a pink border accent. It includes a matching blouse piece and is perfect for traditional or festive occasions.
This beautiful traditional attire is a true work of patience and craft. The technique used here is "Kadhua" (a.k.a Kadhwa or Kadwa).
Kadhua weaving is an exclusive technique of handloom weaving in Varanasi region. This form of craft needs immense patience to weave often taking almost 6-8 weeks to finish one fine piece of silk saree. This elaborate weaving technique is used to incorporate motifs; each motifs is woven separately unlike other Banarasi handloom sarees. In Kadhua sarees, there are no loose ends at the back of the fabric.
Using this technique, Jangla patterns has been crafted on the saree in Rose Gold and Silver Zari. Jangla pattern is one of the oldest practiced art in Banaras. The pattern is an amalgamation of jaals, flowers and creepers that cover the body of the fabric to create a rich and opaque design. When these patterns are woven in Kadhua technique it is then called "Jangla"
This immense work of art and craft on the textile makes this product a purest form of Katan Banarsi Kadhua Jangla Saree.
