About Priyanka Jha

A Journey Rooted in Tradition and Passion

Priyanka Jha’s journey into the world of fashion began not in a classroom, but in the heart of her teenage creativity. Hailing from Darbhanga, India, Priyanka found herself captivated by the art of design, despite having no formal education in the field. Her love for creating handmade, ethnic clothing soon became the foundation of a career that would bring Indian craftsmanship to the global stage.

After marrying at 19 and moving to Jamshedpur, Priyanka pursued a teaching career in 2005. But her passion for design never left her. She started creating custom clothing for friends and family, which quickly gained popularity. By 2009, her path took a new direction when she left teaching and embraced her love for fashion full-time. With just ₹35,000 and a vision, Priyanka collaborated with Madhubani artists to create unique, hand-painted sarees that soon became a favorite in boutique stores such as Jharcraft and Biponi.

As her designs flourished, Priyanka expanded her team to over 50 artisans, championing local talent and supporting traditional Indian crafts. Her designs crossed borders when she moved to the UK in 2013, where she introduced her collections to international audiences through exhibitions. The response was nothing short of spectacular.

In 2014, Priyanka Jha launched her eponymous brand, combining the rich tradition of Indian ethnic wear with her newfound knowledge of Western fabrics and styles. Her brand represents more than just fashion – it’s a dedication to sustainable, handcrafted clothing, empowering artisans, especially women, and celebrating the beauty of slow fashion.

Today, Priyanka Jha’s label is synonymous with innovation, sustainability, and Indian heritage. Every piece she creates tells a story of tradition and contemporary flair, making her brand a symbol of elegance, ethics, and empowerment in the global fashion landscape.
